ten comfortable rooms
The Anchor is situated in the heart of the well-known village of Walberswick, just a stroll across the allotments to the beach huts and sand dunes, and only a half hour walk from the town of Southwold. We are in the perfect location for a quiet get away with stunning coastal walks right on our doorstep. We have ten bedrooms including four en-suite bedrooms upstairs in our Arts and Craft building each with a unique aspect whether overlooking the village allotments, towards the sea or front-facing. A stone's throw from the main building are a further six large Garden Rooms which provide a quiet and comfortable refuge. There are 3 dog friendly garden rooms, numbers 11, 12 and 14.
When booking a room with us, please ask us any questions you have regarding room sizes, views or space within the room and we will be happy to answer any queries.
Room rates are per room, per night, based on two adults sharing a room and are inclusive of a cooked breakfast and VAT. Rates do vary throughout the year depending on season.
WEEKENDS: Weekends require a minimum two-night stay including a Saturday night. (We may be flexible with arrival days and length of stay depending on other bookings and the season.)
BANK HOLIDAYS: Minimum stay requirements apply during Bank Holidays, Latitude Festival, Christmas and New Year.
CHILDREN: We welcome children at The Anchor. For children under 15 years old we offer a double sofa bed. For young children we also have a fold-out single bed for a £15 daily charge. For 2 children sharing the sofa bed the charge is £20 each per night, including breakfast. The charge for 16 years + is £40 per night for a sofa bed and includes breakfast. Please provide your own travel cot; sorry we are no longer offering travel cots.
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at The Anchor. There are three Garden Chalets (rooms 11, 12 and 14) that are dog-friendly with direct access to the back garden. These have tiled floors with rugs for ease of cleaning. We have a hose pipe under the large tree on the back lawn to wash down your dog after muddy walks. When dining, dogs are permitted in the Bar and Family Room and our outdoor terraces (on a lead as not all our guests are keen on dogs).
Please note that we permit a maximum of two dogs per room. Although we do charge £15.00 per dog per night, we reserve the right to apply a charge to cover any damage or special cleaning if required. Age: Dogs should be house-trained and a minimum of one year old. Bedding: Dogs are not permitted on our beds or furniture. We suggest that guests bring their dog's own bedding. Dog-friendly beaches: Walberswick welcomes dogs all year round, whereas Southwold has restrictions in place during May to September. Dog walks: We also recommend Darcy's Dog Walks as seen in Essential Suffolk magazine.
Tender Request: Could contractors submit quotes to build a two bedroomed chalet for disabled guests by 15th November? Contact architect ian@garrettdesign.co.uk for details. Tenders to info@anchoratwalberswick.com
